Field Leader (FL) Instructor Course
Thank you for registering for a FL Instructor Course. Please read this carefully since it will help you prepare for the course. In particular, note the pre-course elements you will have to complete and the deadline of the submission of your pre-course exercises. All the materials you need to prepare for this course can be found here:
www.outdoorcouncil.ca/Materials_for_Instructor_Course These are the steps you must take to prepare for the course: STEP 1: We advise you to start by reading the ‘Field Leader (Hiking) Student Manual’. This will help acquaint you with the scope of the Field Leader course and orient you with how we use some key terminology. STEP 2: Complete the pre-course exercises found in the file of that name and email to the course leader at least 2 days in advance of the start of the course. STEP 3: You will be asked to present one of the Field Leader lessons. The course leader will email you one week before the course date to let you know which one. Optional pre-course reading is provided under the heading ‘Other Materials’.

Course Fees: $400 ($200 if affiliated with a camping program through application at OCC)
Additional: Lodging & Food Option $50 (Lodging for one night and 4 meals + snack); to arrive night before is additional $20 for bed and light breakfast. We look forward to working with you,
