To promote and enable outdoor education and activity
The Community Sport Hub is aiming to engage the communities in the NE Calgary area in learning about the outdoors. We will be teaching youth orienteering, basic map reading, what to pack in a backpack, shelter building, and how to dress for the outdoors. The program will finish with an overnight trip to Camp Riveredge in Calgary on June 28th.
For This Thursday:
Tonight we are discovering what to bring in your backpack when you go out to the mountains! What do you really need? I’m talking about the 10 essentials, and no, your banana costume isn’t one of them. We will have some prizes and fun games for this activity. We will also be showing you how to dress for different weather outside, which is useful no matter where you are! We will finish off the session by talking about the plan for our last evening at camp Riveredge on the 28th. Don’t forget to register!
For Grade 6 and older.
